Affordable Housing Revisions June 2022

Following a holding objection, the affordable housing officer from Stratford Council, it has been clarified that an additional affordable dwelling over and above the policy requirement is being provided and that the housing mix is all but compliant with policy save for over-provision of 1 bed maisonettes. However, these are necessary to provide the multiple aspect dwellings which provide natural surveillance to the open space, private amenity spaces and parking areas.

The 2- and 3-bedroom shared ownership dwellings have been increased in size to accommodate more persons. A private amenity area along with a dedicated cycle and bin store has been provided for the 1-bedroom maisonettes.

It has been confirmed that Morris has been working with Bromford Housing as a potential partner for the affordable housing and they have confirmed that they are satisfied with the proposals having submitted a bid from the initial tender.
