Highways Revision June 2022

Following the holding objection from Warwickshire County Council, their own Highway Consultants have been commissioned by Morris to model the impact of the development on the Birmingham New Road roundabout (notwithstanding that this would have been accommodated for in the County wide model for allocated sites and will have been considered by the inspector in allocating this site for development). This has proven that there is only a modest effect and that the roundabout and the surrounding road network can accommodate the proposed development. Full details are provided in the latest Technical Note prepared by Hydrock as part of the submission to the Council.

Following the holding objection from Worcestershire County Council and their Highway Consultants, a speed survey and Road Safety Audit has been carried out along Far Moor Lane. This has shown that speeds are in excess of the 30mph speed limit and there is a lack of footpaths and crossing facilities for both the existing and new residents, to enable them to utilise the public footpath crossing the development site and the local bus service along Far Moor Lane. A number of improvements are proposed to Far Moor Lane, including traffic calming measures, and the proposed development, so that speeds will be reduced and a safer environment will be provided for everyone compared to the existing situation. Full details can be found in the Technical note prepared by Hydrock and the accompanying Traffic Calming Plan as part of the submission to the Council..

Additionally, a number of off-site contributions have been agreed to improve the local public transport systems
