Arboriculture

A Tree Survey has been undertaken at the site to establish the species, age and quality of the trees. An Impact Assessment has also been undertaken to establish the effect of the development on the trees and to ensure appropriate mitigation and new tree planting is undertaken.

The non-native Poplar trees on the eastern boundary of the site that have been planted in an unnatural grid pattern which is uncharacteristic of landscape character. The single species woodland planting has reached the end of its natural sustainable life and should be removed and mitigated for by native planting. There are pockets of large mature Oak trees that we are proposed to be retained, wherever possible, and some of the woodland planting along Far More Lane will be retained. The proposals will enhance the landscape setting through new landscape buffers and new native planting.
